Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF)
Dallas's most important film festival, held annually in April, presenting competitive independent American and international cinema to one of America's largest and most economically dynamic cities.
Overview
The Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF) is Dallas's most important film festival. Founded in 2006 and held annually in April, the festival presents competitive independent American and international cinema to one of America's largest and most economically dynamic metropolitan areas.
Dallas's identity as a major American business and financial center, with strong cultural ambitions that have produced world-class institutions including the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the AT&T Performing Arts Center, gives the festival access to an affluent, culturally engaged audience.
Texas's film production activity -- Austin's industry, multiple film incentive programs, and the state's diverse locations from Gulf Coast beaches to Big Bend desert to the Hill Country -- creates useful industry connections for the festival.
