Imagine Film Festival is the Netherlands' leading genre film festival, held annually in April in Amsterdam. Founded in 1989 under the name the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival before rebranding as Imagine, the festival presents the best in fantasy, horror, science fiction, and speculative cinema from around the world during its nine-day run.
Amsterdam's progressive cultural environment and its large population of internationally minded film enthusiasts create a receptive audience for genre cinema that extends beyond dedicated horror and fantasy fans. The festival programs approximately 60 to 80 films spanning short films, features, and special events.
