NAACP/Hollywood Bureau Diversity Scholarship
Scholarships supporting students of color pursuing careers in film, television, and entertainment media, administered through the NAACP Hollywood Bureau.
Overview
The NAACP Hollywood Bureau administers scholarship and fellowship programs that support students of color pursuing careers in the entertainment industry. The Bureau serves as the NAACP's primary interface with the film and television industries, advocating for increased representation and opportunity for people of color both in front of and behind the camera.
The scholarship programs reflect the NAACP's longstanding commitment to educational access and economic opportunity. By investing in the education of aspiring filmmakers, writers, producers, and other entertainment professionals of color, the programs help build a pipeline of diverse talent that can reshape the stories Hollywood tells and who tells them.
The NAACP Image Awards, the organization's annual celebration of outstanding achievement by people of color in film, television, music, and literature, provide the cultural context for the scholarship programs. Recipients join a community that values excellence, representation, and the transformative power of media.
