Overview

Liffe (Ljubljana International Film Festival) is Slovenia's most important film festival. Founded in 1992 -- the year of Slovenian independence -- and held annually in November in Ljubljana, the festival presents competitive international and Slovenian cinema in one of Central Europe's most charming small capitals.

Ljubljana's compact, walkable city center, its castle overlooking the Ljubljanica River, and its café culture create an exceptionally pleasant festival environment. The city's modest size -- Ljubljana is one of Europe's smallest capitals -- creates an intimate festival atmosphere where filmmakers and audiences encounter each other easily.
