Nairobi Film Festival (NAIFF)

Kenya's most important film festival, held annually in October in Nairobi, presenting East African and international cinema to Kenyan audiences and supporting the growing Kenyan film industry.

Overview

The Nairobi International Film Festival (NAIFF) is Kenya's most important film festival, held annually in October in Nairobi, East Africa's largest city and economic hub. Founded in 2005, the festival presents Kenyan, East African, and international cinema to Nairobi's large and growing urban population.

Kenya's film industry has grown rapidly in recent years, driven by the success of Kenyan filmmakers on the international festival circuit and the expansion of domestic cinema infrastructure. NAIFF serves as the primary showcase for this emerging industry, providing Kenyan filmmakers with a domestic platform and connecting Kenyan cinema with international audiences and industry professionals.

Nairobi's position as East Africa's economic and cultural capital gives the festival access to an internationally minded, educated audience and to industry professionals from across the region.
